Hermes Breeding Their Own Crocodiles

10 Jun 2009Luxury house Hermes is inundated with demand for their products. It’s not unsual for people to literally wait years to own of their $50,000 bags. 
In an effort to meet this demand for their accessories, Hermes has opted to start their own farms in Australia for the sole purpose of breeding crocodiles..
“It can take three to four crocodiles to make one of our bags so we are now breeding our own crocodiles on our own farms, mainly in Australia,” says Patrick Thomas, chief executive of the luxury line. “Hermes already faces a major challenge producing 3,000 crocodile bags a year. The world is not full of crocodiles, except the stock exchange!”
At the time of posting, there has been no response from PETA.
