Justin Bieber’s Hair Auctioned For $40,668

Woah, talk about raising some funds.  Just one week after teen singing sensation Justin Bieber gifted Ellen DeGeneres with an autographed container of his freshly cut locks, the singer’s hair was auctioned off for an astounding $40,668!  Think the Beatles would have ever gotten that much?

Proceeds of the hairy auction will go to the Gentle Barn Foundation, which rescues and rehabilitates animals in need of care.

“We’re doing something special,” Bieber revealed to Ellen during the February 23 appearance. “We want you to donate it to whichever charity you want.”

Wow, what a sweetie this kid is!   Wonder if he could sell my hair…

Say hello to the just revealed world’s most expensive handbag, the Mouawad’s 1001 Nights Diamond Purse.

With an official certification from the Guinness World Records as the most expensive handbag in the world, the Mouawad’s 1001 Nights Diamond Purse certainly does stun.

This is designer Mouawad’s second record-breaking creation after the 2009 $11 million Fantasy bra created in collaboration with Victoria’s Secret.

The newest creation features a handcrafted heart-shaped handbag made with 18kt gold that has also been incorporated with 4,517 diamonds (105 yellow, 56 pink and 4,356 colorless) to create a grand total weight of 381.92 carats.

Mouawad’s 1001 Nights Diamond Purse was handcrafted by ten artisans and took a total of 8,800 laborious hours to make, and it was worth every second.

Chef Daniel Boulud Closing Vancouver Restaurant

Known as the first international superstar chef to open a restaurant in Canada, sadly Chef Daniel Boulud will have to now withdraw his title as he is having to close the Vancouver-located restaurant.

Opened just two years ago, Vancouver’s Lumière and db Bistro Moderne will be closing its doors on March 13.  The French chef, who also has restaurants in both NYC and London, has seen little success in Vancouver, with dining experts citing that the eatery was too much fine dining for the informal Vancouver laid-back foodie scene.

While Boulud is having to give up his Canadian dreams, the chef is doing quite well in New York, winning the James Beard Outstanding Restaurant Award for his restaurant Daniel.s.

Kelsey Grammer & Kayte Walsh’s Lavish Wedding Menu

56-year-old Frasier star Kelsey Grammer will soon be walking down the isle once again with 29-year-old fiance Kayte Walsh and we have the dish on the dishes.

This Friday Grammer and Walsh will say I do at the Plaza Hotel in New York with quite a lavish affair, including an extensive and expensive dinner menu for their wedding guests.

There will reportedly be two menu sets for the grand event, one for dinner and another menu for the after party, of course.  The two menus include a variety of wines and a premium open bar.

The fare includes assorted goat cheese truffles, slow roasted breast of turkey, King Oyster Mushroom Carpaccio, Lemon Truffle Vinaigrette, and lobster with corn and mango relish.

The wedding cake will be provided by Sylvia Weinstock, who is famously referred to as the “Queen of Wedding Cakes,” and has baked for the rich and famous, including Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Cyndi Lauper, Jane Fonda, and Alex Baldwin.

The price of dinner will cost Kelsey $215 per guest.

Man, too bad we turned down the invite, it would have been worth it just for the luxurious dinner fixings.

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon’s Already Lavish Unborn Twins

Singer Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are pregnant with twins and already these kids have silver, nay gold, spoons in their mouths.

Reportedly, Carey has already transformed an entire wing of their Beverly Hills mansion into a luxurious nursery for the unborn twins which includes a full walk-in wardrobe with Petit Tresor designer clothes, of course, along with ivory walls and 18-carat gold trim.  Again we say, 18-carat gold trim.  Sheesh.

And that’s not all, the nursery also includes a flat screen TV that descends from the ceiling with sound system, diamond encrust iPods and Chelsea sleigh cribs costing $2,200 each.  Looks like these twins are going to have everything and then some.

1849 Double Eagle US Coin the Most Expensive

Wow, sure wish our ancestors would have held on to their 1849-dated “Double Eagle” $20 gold piece coin.

Minted in Philadelphia during the early years of the California Gold Rush, this 1849 coin is being valued at $20 million and is the rarest US coin.

Interestingly enough, it was only 15 years ago that the Double Eagle coin broke the $1 million mark, so there’s no telling how many of these could be hidden in the attic upstairs just waiting for you to find them.  If there was ever a time to start collecting coins, it’s now!

Cy Waits Gives Paris Hilton Luxury Car for 30th Birthday

To hell with flowers and a card for your birthday, Paris Hilton sure doesn’t swing that way!  Hilton is celebrating her 30th birthday Thursday and has already kicked off her 30th with several days of partying and gift receiving.

Boyfriend Cy Waits must really be into Paris or either he got into some trouble last  year as he surprised the socialite with a brand new $350,000 bright yellow Lexus earlier this week.

Paris looked truly shocked when she received the luxurious Lexus and reportedly hugged and kissed Waits all over the driveway when the sports car was delivered.

But the fun or funds don’t stop there, Hilton is planning parties all over the place to mark her thirtieth, saying, “It”s a big birthday so I”m going to be going to a lot of places to have parties: Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas.”

Hrmmm, this gives last year’s birthday a not so shining success rate by Hilton standards….
