Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute Luxury Whisky

Whisky might not be as glamorous as wine or champagne but that’s not stopping makers from coming out with really swanky ones.

Chivas Brothers (makers of the popular Scotish whisky Chivas Regal) created the Royal Salute Whisky back in 1953 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. Royal Salute’s the only range to be aged 21 years and older.

Since then, the Royal Salute Whisky’s had four master blenders who safeguard the process to maintain the same quality. A special range – the 62 Gun Salute – is the only one to be aged 40 years and above. It’s considered as Chivas’ nod to the four master blenders.

It will go on sale towards the end of 2010 priced at $2,200.
