The tragically hip Mini has reached a milestone mark in that it is now 50 years old.

BMW has celebrated the occasion by unveiling the Mini Coupé Concept which is based on the traditional hatchback and fits two passengers comfortably.

At this time, the car is strictly for show and will be unveiled in Frankfurt next month; however, there is already street buzz that the car will go into production.  Should this happen, it would be a forgone conclusion that a convertible would follow soon after.
