We live in a world of excess, and sometimes the results can be beautiful. Some of the best things to work towards having the luxury models in include anything you have to live your life in. From clothing, to your bed and of course your house, having the best you can afford will not only give you confidence, but there can be an air of satisfaction and accomplishment in having something “nice”.

While I currently can’t afford a million dollar home, I definitely enjoy looking at what possibilities are out there.

Average US Home Versus Million Dollar Estate?

Despite the housing market going through a large re-adjustment, the median price for a home in the USA is around $185,000. While this is only one fifth of a million dollar home, it still can provide more than comfortable living conditions, though not nearly as glamorous.

Sitting on almost one quarter of an acre, the house also includes an eleven foot by fifteen foot master bedroom, a reasonable garage, central air conditioning and a dishwasher.

Depending on where you want to buy your million dollar home, you can expect to find things either similar or massively different. If you were to buy a million dollar home in Long Beach California, you’d probably find something similar to the one that I found. A house with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and around 2800 square feet on close to a quarter of an acre of land.

A difference of $815,000 for a west coast property, in a highly sought after area, that also provides some extra polish with regard to features. Is it worth it? Not everyone would think so, but this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to glamorous homes. Read the rest of this entry »
