Have you ever wanted to indulge in surfing but shuddered at the garish colours of the boards?
Fear no more because New Zealander Roy Stewart has designed a $20,000 Makaha surfboard that has been
fashioned from more than 400 individually crafted pieces of empress wood.
This amazing, handmade, limited edition surfboard is considered “museum quality”; however, it can be put through it’s paces. At 12″9″, the Makaha is modeled on the olo boards once reserved for royalty among Polynesian natives. It’s amazingly flexible and accelerates in the water aided by a Vort-X tunnel fin for serious performance and speed. In spite of all this amazing handling it is considered extremely forgiving & easy to ride. In other words, you can take it out on a Sunday cruise or show the boys in Maui how it’s done.
The Makaha has a three-month lead time for delivery and includes a posh custom travel bag.
